黑剛玉是以高鐵鋁礬土或者高鋁礬土加高鋁鐵礦，在電弧爐里經(jīng)過高溫熔融冶煉然后冷卻，從而制得的一種以α- Al2O3 和鐵尖晶石為主礦相的灰黑色結(jié)晶體，其特點(diǎn)是Al2O3 含量適中。黑剛玉生產(chǎn)能耗約為棕剛玉的二分之一，冶煉過程中不需要還原氣氛，極少有CO2排放，是一種節(jié)能環(huán)保的耐磨材料。因而具有硬度適中、韌性好、自銳性好、使用中產(chǎn)生的磨削熱低，不易燒傷工件表面等特點(diǎn)。

Black corundum is high iron bauxite or extensions of bauxite aluminium iron ore, after high temperature melting smelting in electric arc furnace and cooling, thus made a is given priority to with alpha Al2O3 and spinel mineral phase of colored crystals, its characteristic is Al2O3 content. The energy consumption of black corundum is about half of that of brown corundum. In the process of smelting, it is not necessary to restore the atmosphere, so it is very rare to have CO2 emission. Therefore, it has the characteristics of moderate hardness, good toughness, good self-sharpness, low grinding heat produced in use, and not easy to burn workpiece surface.

明悅黑剛玉具有很好的自銳性，磨削時發(fā)熱量少，加工件的光潔度較好，適用于零件電鍍前底面拋光，鋁制品和不銹鋼的拋光，也可用于拋光光學(xué)玻璃、加工木材等。由于它的親水性好，可用在制造砂紙、砂布和樹脂磨具，還可以作研磨膏和拋光粉。黑剛玉由于鐵含量高，因而不宜用于制造陶瓷磨具。

MingYue black corundum has the very good self-sharpening, calorific value, less when grinding roughness of machined part is good, suitable for the floor polishing, prior to the plating aluminum and stainless steel polishing, also can be used for polishing of optical glass, wood processing, etc. Due to its good hydrophilicity, it can be used in sandpaper, emery cloth and resin grinding tools, as well as grinding paste and polishing powder. Black corundum is not suitable for making ceramic grinding tools due to its high iron content.
